Third time's a charm for the organisers of the Scoil Diarmada Parent's Association's major fundraiser, "The 20k Drop" that will take place next Saturday, 6th November at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow.
Twice over the past eighteen months, the event has been devastatingly postponed due to the effects of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions but on Saturday, eight contestants will finally have the chance to each win €2,500!
The eight contestants will be picked from the audience on the night, and each contestant will have the chance to win €2500. They will be asked eight questions and must place some or all of their cash on the correct answers. If some cash is placed on an incorrect answer it is lost and contestants go onto the next question with the remaining money. The aim is to reach question 8 and have some cash left. The show is fully computerised with lifelines to help contestants along the way, just like the TV show, The Million Pound Drop.
Tickets are selling fast as we all look to get back into some semblance of a normal social life once more! The tickets are €20 each (Not bad for a chance at €20k!) but you can also donate different sums if want to help out this fantastic cause. Follow this link to purchase tickets or make a donation.
Funds raised from the show will be used to install a playground for the pupils of Scoil Diarmada, who have already raised over €6,000 from their own fundraising efforts. A brilliant achievement by the girls and boys of the Castledermot school.
The new playground will be an all-inclusive playground, which will provide all children using it with opportunities to develop at their own individual level.
